My first experience with the Pacific Northwest was in October of 2005. Adam and I had just started dating during that previous summer while he was home on break. He had returned to school, so I was excitedly & cautiously spending every spare dime I had to take my first trip to visit him in Eugene, Oregon. To say I was nervous was the severest understatement of my life, as neither of us had very strong desire to date long distance for the next 2 1/2 years (I mean seriously…where could this relationship possibly go?!). Never having visited Oregon before, I also had no idea what to expect. But every morning that we awoke to the crisp & damp fall air, laughing through deep conversation over warm bagels & orange juice, I quickly fell in love with Adam and the charm of the PNW.

The fall season will always hold the most special place in my heart not only for the beauty that comes with the falling leaves, foggy mornings and cozy layering attire, but it was this season that I built the strongest bond with my best friend in what was soon to become my new home region.

Such a sweet memory- I can only imagine how dreamy the PNW is in the fall. There’s something very nostalgic about fall everywhere, but I have a feeling it’s even more so in Oregon.
