leisurely summer reads.

One of my fondest memories as a kid during the summertime in Colorado was finding a soft cool patch of grass in the shade and flipping through piles of my favorite magazines. I could spend hours listening to the wind blowing through the leaves of the trees overhead, as the sun warmed my feet that lay just outside of the comforts of the dark shady shadows. Magazines quickly became my initial source of inspiration for all things beautiful & creative. I remember clipping photos and inspiring quotes from teen & fashion magazines for hours and hours lining my closet and bedroom doors with collages of the various clippings…can we just say very 1st design boards?!

There are so many gorgeous publications out there these days with one of my favorites being Kinfolk. I’ve mentioned Kinfolk previously on this blog, but I can’t go without mentioning their latest summer issue. It’s in one word : impeccable. Stunning as always, but somehow even more palpable. The rays of summer sunshine almost burst from the pages and their promo video (here) made me giddy and wish for the opportunity to fill up every summer weekend with friends & good eats. The video alone reminded me not to take summer for granted this year. I immediately booked Adam and I tickets to an outdoor summer movie series and vowed that the Friday farmer’s market would be a weekly occurance this year. Summer’s are so so short here in Seattle and thank you to these GORGEOUS reads I was reminded to find that simple patch of green grass far more often.

What’s your favorite way to spend a lazy summer day? Any summer reads you can’t resist??
