I wish so badly that I dedicated time EVERY weekend to sitting down with Adam for a nice and cozy morning meal. Morning routines are really tough for us as we have VERY different schedules during the week, but the weekend should really be that opportunity for us to refocus and take the time to sit down to eat together (and NOT on the couch while leaning over the coffee table!).
Adam made a run to one of my favorite bakeries on Saturday to grab us some sweet & savory pastries while I prepped the table. Macrina Bakery has a few locations in Seattle, but I especially love their location on Queen Anne. It has such a friendly neighborhood vibe to it, and their parmesan rosemary ham biscuit is SO SO worth the ungodly amount of calories.
With a hot mocoa for me, and an orange juice for Adam, we sat down to breakfast at home for the first time in a LONG time. Ahhhh – aren’t weekends the best when we actually take the time to enjoy them?!
1. Plates. 2. Nourishment. Don’t wanna cook or bake? Local bakeries are the perfect touch to any morning breakfast table. 3. A loved one. 4. Juice. 5. Towel or napkin for spills. 6. Something sweet. 7. Cute spoon for condiments. 8. Tray for displaying goodies. 9. Morning pick me up a.k.a. : warm coffee (always decaf for me). 10. Freezer jam for spreading (this one is our favorite). 11. Utensils.
