It’s kind of astonishing to think I’m already off for my second bout in Europe this year and I haven’t even had a chance to finish sharing my pics from my last trip on the blog yet! Thanks to my amazing good fortune this year of free airline travel (thank yooooou United and my father-in-law who put in 30 amazing years with Continental Airlines!) I’ll be spending the next week and a half (or so) in Ireland with my new friends Jemma & James.
I met lovely Jemma & her adorable hubby James during my last trip to Dublin. After a random tweet about my travels last May/June, Jemma and I decided to meet up for a drink during my 5 day stint in Ireland. We became fast friends and have had an endless array of conversations via Skype ever since. Jemma is an event designer + planner in Dublin (don’t you just love her biz name : HipHip?!) and she asked me to come back to Dublin this month (September) & possibly Oct too! I’ll be assisting her with styling/executing a gigantic SUPER awesome wedding she’s producing in the middle of a field in Ireland. I couldn’t even fathom saying no and I’m SO SO SO SO excited to see first hand what a real Irish fete looks like!
I’ve already been warned by Jemma that the wedding will likely not end until the wee hours of the morning (we’re taking 5/6 a.m. people!) and I feel so blessed to be experiencing this once in a lifetime opportunity! This wedding sounds like it is gonna be one for the books (a circus tent, 150+ mismatched wood chairs, drag queens as wait staff, Sarah Yates & Lou Mora shooting, an airstream bar)…uh yeah…CANNOT WAIT!!
I thought as a means of celebrating my budding friendship with Jemma & James & the wedding week we are about to spend together, I would share their GORGEOUS selves on my blog today!
