Desert Palette.

•  04.September.2013

A couple weekends back I had the pleasure of attending a wedding of my sweet friend Nicole in Palm Springs. Signature cocktails in vintage glassware next to the pool; guests donning brightly patterned and period shift dresses; a killer midcentury pad; even a large floating swan & live mariachi band all set this wedding apart from any other I’ve ever had the good fortune of experiencing.

But what struck me time and time again about the location was the palette of the desert. Sun bleached pastels, scorching earthly neutrals, plush tones of decades past… Palm Springs simply as a visual experience knocked me off my feet. Even with temperatures well over 100, and fire ant bites threatening the fun of after-dark dancing, I left with an overwhelming and new found love for this special place and am on serious inspiration overdrive even weeks later.

So beautiful! I love anything that’s sun bleached. There’s something so comforting about it, especially in the middle of a PNW winter…

Oh man, I am right there with you on the beauty of the colors in the desert. That and those found by the sea are definitely nature wins in my book.
