Currently Coveting : Boot(ie)s.

•  25.October.2013

I’ve never been much of a shoe girl, spending the majority of my adolescence in either dirt ridden keds, soccer cleats, or flip flops (‘thongs’ as my dad called them – ugh the 1970′s California native hippie in him embarrassing me at every turn!). I’ve pretty much spent my entire life avoiding anything with a heel over a 1/2 inch high, for the paralyzing fear that toppling over 6ft tall would make the likelihood of finding a boyfriend that much tougher. My grandest shoe purchase was a pair of Monolo Blahnik Mary Janes on a girls trip to NYC…I’ve in turn worn them a whopping total of 2.5 times.

As I’ve grown up and all of the insecurities of youth have faded away, I proudly stand tall, even learning to accept the fact that most of the cute shoes in the world consist of a heel on the back. And every year as fall rounds the corner and those cool weather boots come out of the closet, I find myself calmed and comforted by their sturdiness and ability to pair with just about anything. I love that boots can be dressed up and dressed down; mixed and matched with patterns and neutrals. Worn to an outdoor day in the mud or sunshine, or to dinner in the city with friends.

A few pairs of booties I’m currently coveting this fall, plus those green hunters I’ve been begging Adam for every holiday since we moved to Seattle … hint, hint hubs!

Happy Weekend Friends!

As a fellow tall lady (and one with big, wide feet), I’m so with you on not being a shoe person…but I am completely, 100% a boot person. I think this year will be the year I FINALLY invest in some Frye boots.

I can’t believe you live in Seattle and don’t have Hunter boots! I live in Vancouver and could not live without mine. Your husband really needs to take that hint!

Gah! Those TOMS! I’ve been drooling over them for so long.
