Breakfast in Galway.

•  14.September.2012

You know those moments when you realize you were meant to see or experience something?? It’s as if the universe pushed you in the direction? I had one of those moments yesterday in Galway and the second I walked through the door of Ard Bia I knew I was supposed to see this beautiful place.

Jemma had told me the night before she had a restaurant in mind for us, but due to the long wait she had decided on another for dinner. I hadn’t know which restaurant she had spoken so highly of, but miraculously the next morning I stumbled into that exact place on my own without direction. Ard Bia is tucked away along the water on the edge of Galway and is one of those places that you wished existed right around the corner from your own house – you just immediately feel right at home. Every corner is unique, perfectly dark and cozy, engulfing you in its rustic eclectic bohemian charm. Rich designed packaging lines the bar, with Ardbia’s BEAUTIFUL irish-made cookbook taking centerstage. Each piece of art that hangs from the walls, each seat cushion, each bill tray so intentional, yet so random in beauty at the same time.

I loved everything about this sweet place and am dying to make my way back on my next visit to Ireland. If you ever get the chance to swing in, it’s one of those places you’ll never forget. Nab yourself a slice of their lemon and raspberry loaf and find a pretty corner to escape in with that perfect cup of tea.

I stumbled on this post thru a pinterest post of the photo of Galway. When I saw the first pictures of this post, I immediately thought of Ard Bia. I have only been there once, last summer, on a work trip. And it has been etched in my mind ever since. Such a lovely place and your photos are beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
