a weekend celebration.

This weekend was such a great one. It’s pretty rare when Adam and I actually get to travel together (he has limited vacation time and we are saving every last drop of it for a big trip this fall) so when we got to sneak away from our lives in Seattle on Friday we were giddy with excitement. When we got married nearly 3 years ago, we made a tradition to return to the city with which we were married as a way to always remind us of the love we shared for each other on that day.  With the craziness of the wedding season this year, we knew if we didn’t leave this past weekend we wouldn’t make it happen this year. The trip to Colorado was exactly what we needed, and it didn’t hurt that we flew to Denver with the entire Sounders soccer team (Adam was in HEAVEN!) and then got to watch them beat the Rapids alongside my family on Saturday night!

So many amazing highlights from the weekend (cuddling and kissing our nephew Emryk until he couldn’t stand it anymore, trying on my Mom’s wedding dress that I’d never seen before!, riding bikes through CSU campus and reminiscing about my time there, anniversary cake – almond poppy seed with raspberry filling, a quiet dinner in old town Fort Collins complete with some Olympics watching, non-stop burrito consumption at our favorite stops, a bubble bath at the Armstrong Hotel, the afternoon nap we took with bellies full of yummy grub) … honestly too many to count!!

An extra special thank you to my fam for being the cherry on top of our weekend, and a BIG thank you to my in-laws for watching our pup so we could have a relaxing trip away from our hectic lives.
